MLB Pitcher Jamie Moyer Encourages Fans to support
“HELPING HEARTS CAMPAIGN”
TO AID EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS IN HAITI

The Moyer Foundation will Match Donations to Campaign
Helping Children in Haiti

Seattle, WA – The Moyer Foundation (www.MoyerFoundation.org), founded by Major League Baseball pitcher, Jamie Moyer and his wife, Karen, today announced that the organization will match up to $50,000 in donations through  their “Helping Hearts Campaign” that was created to support emergency relief efforts specifically targeted to helping child victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

"We are all human beings with compassion, and we need to end the suffering,” said Jamie Moyer, MLBs winningest active pitcher and Co-founder of The Moyer Foundation. “As an athlete, I hope that my fans, Phillies fans, Moyer Foundation fans and anyone who supports our mission will team up with us on this effort to help children in Haiti.”

More than two million children have been affected already by this tragedy. In keeping with the Foundation’s mission of helping children in distress, The Moyer Foundation has created a partnership with Free the Children to help fund emergency relief and medical supplies to get immediate, effective, primary health care and support to the hardest-hit communities where so many children are at risk.

Co-Founder of The Moyer Foundation, Karen Moyer has worked directly with the Founder of Free The Children, Craig Kielburger on previous relief and outreach efforts.

“Free The Children has been in Haiti for a decade serving kids. We are so grateful for the support made possible by The Moyer Foundation.   With this support, over the past days, we've run supply convoys, ensured the safety at our school sites, one of which is home to one-hundred and seventy-two Port au Prince orphans, and are continuing to put every ounce of our heart into the work on the ground work with our partners and NGOs,” said Keilburger in response to the Foundation’s fundraising efforts.

The Moyer Foundation created the “Helping Hearts Campaign” to facilitate support for those in Haiti from their network of sponsors, donors and supporters. One hundred percent of the donations to the campaign will go directly to the Haiti relief efforts lead by Free The Children. To make a donation to the campaign, please visit MoyerFoundation.org.
