Jamie Moyer Hosts Celebrity Golf Classic During All Star Break
Over $235,000 raised to help support The Moyer Foundation and Camp Mariposa

Seattle, WA. – July 12, 2010 – The Moyer Foundation (www.moyerfoundation.org),  founded by Major League Baseball World-Series champion Jamie Moyer and his wife Karen, raised over $235,000  to help children in distress at its 4th annual Celebrity Golf Classic event held July 11th and 12th at Suncadia Resort’s private Tumble Creek Golf Course in Cle-Elum, Washington.

Participating celebrities included Jamie Moyer, Digger Phelps, Jeremy Roenick, Bode Miller, Marshall Faulk, Joe Theismann, Rick Rhoden, Neil Lomax, Dave Krieg, Jeff Cirillo, Nesby Glasgow, Kathi Goertzen, Dave Grosby, Scott Hatteberg, Spencer Hawes, Damon Huard, Dave Krieg, Dane Looker, and Mark Rypien.

Twenty-seven teams of five competed in the tournament. First place went to Marshall Faulk and the Wilke Family Foundation team.

“It’s great to be back in Seattle and to see old friends, and meet new people who are getting involved with the Foundation,” said Jamie Moyer.  “We are grateful to all of the celebrities who give their time to play, and especially to Suncadia for the exclusive opportunity to host the event at Tumble Creek. It’s a great way to bring people together and make a difference to help many kids through Camp Mariposa and The Moyer Foundation.”

Funds raised during the two-day event benefit programs and initiatives of The Moyer Foundation including Camp Mariposa, a first-of-its-kind camp designed specifically for children who are impacted by addiction in their families. The weekend-long camp brings together traditional camp activities combined with professional counseling and support. The camp is run in partnership with Youth Eastside Services nine times per year.

"Events like our Celebrity Golf Tournament provide the opportunity for us to raise awareness about critical issues that affect children in distress in our community. Camp Mariposa is making a positive impact in their futures, and we are thrilled to be a part of creating and expanding this resource so more kids can get the help and support they need to help end the cycle of addiction,” said Karen Moyer, co-founder of The Moyer Foundation.

The Moyer Foundation is one of the only non-member tournaments allowed at Suncadia’s private Tumble Creek Golf Course.
