3.5 Million children under the age of 18 have lost an immediate family member*
- Research indicates these children are at a much greater risk for depression, suicide, poverty and substance abuse.
- Children often feel isolated in their grief but rarely receive formal grief counseling.
When dealing with the death of someone important, the search to find necessary counseling and support can be overwhelming. The Moyer Foundation has conducted extensive research on a national level to provide children and families with easy access to bereavement resources in their area. The Moyer Foundation’s
National Grief Resources Guide lists grief and bereavement organizations by state with Camp Erin agencies highlighted in blue. Also included are books for grieving children and websites to provide additional support.
If you are an organization that is providing grief or bereavement services to children and families in your community and are not listed, please contact The Moyer Foundations
Camp Erin Program Coordinator to be added to the resource guide. Thank you for joining us in the belief that no child should grieve alone.
