San Diego Youth Services - Camp Mariposa San Diego

{alt}

San Diego Youth Services (SDYS) is a nationally recognized non-profit organization providing services that will address mental health needs throughout a youth’s life, including prevention and early intervention for kids and families, and intensive, outpatient mental health services, trauma informed care and case management for youth ages 12-25 who are experiencing homelessness or running away from home. They also work with children and their families to improve adult-child relationships both at school and in the home.

Launched in 1970 when volunteers established one of the first runaway youth shelters in America, SDYS now provides intensive services to more than 20,000 children and their families each year.

This nationally recognized agency offers emergency services, safe places to live and long-term solutions for kids “on their own” by providing shelters, group homes, foster homes, community centers and transitional housing.

Professional help for high-risk youth is provided at all 14 major locations in San Diego County.

SDYS is Eluna’s Camp Mariposa San Diego partner. Camp Mariposa is a free, weekend camp program for children ages 9-12. At camp, youth participate in fun, traditional camp activities combined with education and support sessions led by trained professionals and adult mentors. Additional social and educational activities are offered for youth, and their families throughout the year. Youth who attend Camp Mariposa learn coping skills that build resiliency and break the cycle of addiction.
